Abstract
I feel very lucky to have finally met Encik Hafizan Halim, an Islamic calligrapher and artist from Kedah. He creates amazingly intricate "khat" pieces based on old Muslim-Malay calligraphic styles. His works feature Quranic verses, and one huge piece is actually of the whole Surah Yassin! My sons, Tunku Temenggong Johor, and Tunku Panglima Johor, came to Istana Bukit Serene even though they were busy elsewhere because they wanted to meet him. Both of them greatly admire his work (as seen on his Instagram account). A truly talented young man who should be given more recognition. May Allah SWT grant him success in showing us the beauty of each letter and each word of the Quranic verses! My thanks to DYTM Tengku Puan Pahang for helping to arrange Encik Hafizan Halim meet me and show me some of the paintings he has created.
