Abstract
The Chair of the Australian Accounting Standards Board (AASB) and the Malaysian Accounting Standards Board (MASB) met on 20 November 2023 in Brisbane, Australia at the 15th AOSSG Annual Meeting, hosted by the AASB. The Chairs of both Boards formally announced the publication of an AASB-MASB Research Report titled, ‘Making Materiality Judgements: Malaysian Preparers and Auditor’s Perspectives, a second joint efforts between the two Boards. In response to the call of the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) for research on this topic, the two Boards and a team of esteemed Malaysian academic researchers came forward and worked together, an example of regional cooperation to address a matter of international interest.
