Abstract
With our foremost goal of making the world Better. righter., we try to go above and beyond to provide people with access to electricity. Together with the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development and the Malaysian Electricity Supply Industries Trust Account (AAIBE), we implement the Rural Electrification Programme (BELB - Bekalan Elektrik Luar Bandar), giving light to houses in villages and remote areas. In FY2015, we connected 1,001 houses with electricity supply, in Langkawi, Kedah; Gua Musang; Kelantan; and Sg. Siput, Perak. In doing our utmost to light up the lives of all Malaysians, we also provide electricity through generators, solar hybrid systems or other forms of renewable energy where connection to the grid is not viable. As part of our efforts to serve our customer, we have in 2013 embarked on a project to provide electricity to the residents of Pulau Tuba, near Langkawi. This initiative effectively replaced the diesel generators previously powering the island with a more stable and reliable supply of electricity by connecting Pulau Tuba with the main grid via 4.5km of undersea cables.
