Abstract
It was lovely meeting the Cheah family from Penang. And Delwin's drawings blew me away! Today I had a very special guest : Delwin Cheah. He had, together with his parents and sister, flown in from Penang and gave me a framed drawing for my birthday! He is an autistic boy whose talent for drawing wildlife has received some attention worldwide. I asked his parents about the challenges of raising a child with autism. I admire them for accepting that he is a special child with special needs and for doing their best for him. They've tried to find out as much as they can about autism. Delwin has - like some other autistic children - a gift for drawing and sculpture. His parents told me that he also loves reading, especially about animals; watching Youtube; and he Googles! During our lunch, while they were chatting with me, Delwin started drawing (he takes his drawing book with him wherever he goes). And after lunch, we took him to see the tigers : he was finally able to see some of his favourite animals!
